Intrada Amino Acid

Direct Analysis of Amino Acids in Biological Samples and Beverages Using MRM-SIM Modes

Using the Shimadzu Triple Quadrupole MS System LCMS-8040 and the IMTAKT Intrada Amino Acid column, we investigated the analysis of amino acids in plasma, urine, and beverages.

The results using a 5 nmol/mL standard sample showed that for Gly, Thr, Asp, Ala, Ser, and Cys, the sensitivity in SIM mode was higher and more advantageous for quantification compared to MRM mode. By selectively using MRM and SIM modes for each amino acid, good analytical results for various real samples (human plasma, urine, red wine, beer) were obtained.

The Intrada Amino Acid column is a convenient separation column that allows direct amino acid analysis without derivatization. It was demonstrated that high-sensitivity analysis is possible using both MRM and SIM modes on the LCMS-8040.
